Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta laments FA Cup exit to Manchester United, says it’s one in a thousand games.
Arsenal has a huge chance to win after Manchester United were reduce to 10 men in the final half hour of normal time and equalised, but then went on to score a goalless draw, missed a penalty in the game and lost on penalties in the decider.
“It’s incredible, judging by the performance and what we’ve done so far, we deserved to win easily, but the reality is we’re out and the only thing that will decide us is that,” Arteta said after the game.
Arsenal have finished second to โปรโมชั่นพิเศษจาก UFABET สมัครตอนนี้ รับโบนัสทันที Manchester City in each of the past two Premier League seasons.
But they have so far failed to live up to expectations this campaign to kick on to another level.
Arsenal trail Liverpool, who also have a game in hand, by six points in the Premier League title race and were beaten 2-0 at home by Newcastle in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final.
Arteta, though, launched a passionate defence of his squad with one eye on Wednesday’s north London derby against Tottenham.
“I love my players, I love our team, I love how good they are and what they do because in 1,000 games you lose once and this is it.”
“You have to understand that as well. It’s part of our effort, our play and we have to keep going because on Wednesday we have another important game.”
“That’s football and it’s part of the process. You want things to go your way, but tonight it didn’t.”
