Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim praised his team for their dedication and deserving of their place in the FA Cup after beating Arsenal on penalties.
Manchester United beat Arsenal 5-3 on penalties after holding on to a 1-1 draw in extra time despite being reduced to 10 men, with United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir the hero of the match, who made a string of superb saves including a penalty in the game and in the deciding game.
“Thank you to the players who were there, they fought,” Amorim said after the game.
“Sometimes what we talk about before a game is not about tactics or techniques, but about this. We’ve to fight no matter what, no matter what the situation is. We fought today.”
“We deserved to win. Arsenal didn’t deserve to lose, but we did. The way we played, the way we fought, was incredibly difficult from the start. We didn’t play much with the ball, but เล่นบาคาร่า UFABET เว็บตรง ค่าคอมสูง we controlled the game without it.”
“We play against a great team and it wasn’t just 90 minutes, it was more than that and you could feel the players were really tire. They brought on the subs, they controlled the ball all the time. It was a sacrifice for my players but we deserved to go through because we dealt with it together and we showed character. That’s very important.”
After this victory and last week’s impressive 2-2 draw against the Premier League leaders Liverpool at Anfield, Amorim believes his side are getting better.
“Yes, we are improving because we were facing a great team, and it wasn’t just 90 minutes, it was more than that. You felt that the players were really tire, and it felt like a sacrifice for my players, but we deserved to pass through this round because we suffered together.”
